How can something feel like you have been doing it forever and yet only six months have passed?
Although I don’t know the answer, It is exactly how I feel about blogging. It is no coincidence that my business, Math Ninja, is six months old as well. I started both in September 2013 after I moved to Charleston, South Carolina and I haven’t looked back.
So I started blogging last year, but why?
While talking with friends about starting my own business, a friend recommended I start blogging. She suggested that it is a great way to bring an audience to a business. Since I was new to the whole business idea, I thought okay, why not? I took her suggestion and I hunkered down, determined to teach myself how to blog.
Okay, but why do you continue to blog?
Needless to say, I enjoy blogging. I can’t believe I just wrote that! I enjoy blogging! Little did I know how great the community of bloggers would be! I have learned so much from other bloggers about blogging, business, and website design.
Really, you enjoy it? Why?
It didn’t take long to become addicted to reading and writing. I had to ask myself, why? As a mathematician and educator, I wrote when I needed to, but never for fun, so why am I having such a good time writing now? I enjoy it because blogging satisfies the internal need I have to share, learn, and discover new things. Not to mention the joy that comes from reading the blogs that leave me rolling in laughter and smiling.
What do you blog about?
Now I blog to share strategies with parents, teachers, tutors, and students. Blogging has introduced me to a whole world I never really new was out there. I read others’ blogs to laugh and learn and I hope to provide the same to those who visit my blog at www.math-ninja.com.
There is so much great information out there being shared by bloggers. Settle in and search for a blog on a topic you enjoy. You never know, you may become addicted yourself.
